Project of Developing Language Proficiency for the Students’ Occupational Fields

Developing Language Proficiency for the Students’ Occupational Fields is a project that helps Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University students prepare themselves for a job market confidently. Foreign languages, information technology and good personality are very necessary to support them to get a good job, so the Language Center of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University held Phase I of the training program from 4 -7 March 2010 which had 2 courses;

·         Course 1; English for Communication and Entering the Job Market held from 4 – 5 and 6 – 7 March 2010

·         Course 2; Vietnamese for Communication and Tourism held from 6 – 7 March 2010

In this semester, the Language Center had surveyed the students’ need about other essential areas of interest. Phase II included of the training courses thus included the following:

·         Course 1; English for Communication and Entering the Job Market held from 6 – 7 July 2010

·         Course 2; Introduction to Russian held from 6 – 7 July 2010

·         Course 3; English for Health Personnel held from 8 – 9 July 2010

·         Course 4; English Preparation for TOEIC held from 13 – 14 July 2010     

In this project, Asst. Prof. Dr. Watana Suwannatrai gave honor to the event by presiding at the Opening Ceremony and giving students advice on learning foreign languages and how to compete with other candidates in applying for jobs.

The participants requested more training courses like this one again because they benefited a great deal both for their present and future life.
